Biography
Captain Mohammad Minarul Hoque, (H), BCGM, psc, BN joined Bangladesh Naval Academy on 01 Jan 1991 as Cadet and was commissioned in Executive Branch on 01 Jul 1993. During his long 28 years of service career, he has performed command, staff and instructional duties. He is a Hydrographic Specialized Officer and a Charge Hydrographer of the Navy. He has undergone different training programs both in home and abroad. He has completed his Category ‘B’ and Category ‘A’ Hydrographic Courses from National Hydrographic School, India. He also obtained Masters in Hydrographic Surveying from Goa University, India. He has done 24th Naval Staff Course from DSC&SC Mirpur, Dhaka in 2005 and completed Master’s in Defence Studies from National University.
Captain Minar is an alumnus of Naval War College, Rhode Island, USA, where he has completed Naval Staff Course in 2007. He has got a vast experience in serving onboard a good number of Naval Ships in different capacities. The officer has commanded all types of Hydrographic Ships of BN including BNS ANUSHANDHAN. He has also served as Commanding Officer BNS MONGLA and Zonal Commander West of Bangladesh Coast Guard. During his service period as Zonal Commander West, he was awarded the highest operational award BCGM. The officer participated in the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) as Military Observer in 2008-09. Presently, he is serving as Director of Hydrography and Director General of BIMRAD.
