CHENNAI: Bangladesh Coast Guard ship Kamaruzzman commanded by commanding officer Captain Mohammad Kibria Haq made a port call in Chennai on Sunday.
The ship reached here while it was returning after taking part in the 8th NATPOLREX, a pollution response exercise held at Goa from April 18 to 20.
Various activities including official calls, reciprocal visits onboard ships and professional interactions between personnel of both the Coast Guards have been planned during the four-day stay.
The aim of the visit is to boost interactions between the coast guards of both nations and enhance interoperability in the field of maritime search and rescue, anti-piracy operations and other maritime law enforcement tasks, said a press release.
