Bangladesh Institute of Maritime Research and Development (BIMRAD) and An Organization for Socio-Economic Development (AOSED) did a project to develop a training module on Local Level Strategy of Reducing Climate-Induced Loss and Damage of Seagoing Fishers and conduct a Training of the Trainers (TOT) on the developed module.
Considering the project deliverables, BIMRAD-
> Prepared training module on Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) for the traditional seagoing fisher community to avoid climate change loss
> Conducted Training on the module for AOSED staff
As a part of the project contract, an inaugural session of 3-daylong Training of the Trainers (ToT) on 'Local Level Strategy of Reducing Climate induced Loss and Damage of Seagoing Traditional Fishers of Bangladesh' has been organized at CSS Ava Center Khulna on 10 March 2022. A total of 22 participants from AOSED attended a 3-daylong ToT session, who will then train the seagoing fishers in reducing climate-induced loss and damage to Bangladesh. The project aimed at developing awareness among the seagoing fishers, and teaching them how to tackle climate challenges or uncertainties during their tenure of sea fishing.
