BIMRAD and SAU Agreed to Maintain Cooperation for the Development of Blue Economy Initiatives of Bangladesh

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Bangladesh Institute of Maritime Research and Development (BIMRAD) and the Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU) was signed on 8 January 2020 to promote education, research, development works and capacity building programmes concerning the development of blue economy initiatives of Bangladesh and conservation of marine resources of the country. The Vice Chancellor of SAU Prof. Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin Ahamed and Director General of BIMRAD Commodore Kazi Emdadul Haq, BN (retd.) singed the MoU on behalf of their respective institutions at the Vice-Chancellor’s office in the SAU campus.
 

The Pro-VC, Treasurer, Dean of different Faculty including the Faculty of Fisheries, Aquaculture and Marine Science, professors and lecturers under the Faculty of Fisheries, Aquaculture and Marine Science and advisor & officials of BIMRAD were present at that auspicious occasion. 
 

According to the MoU, SAU and BIMRAD will exchange information and materials to strengthen maritime research in the country. Both the institutions will also conduct joint research programmes & project activities and will organize seminar, symposium, conference, workshop & training programmes collaboratively as well. Besides, they will work together to promote maritime sector of Bangladesh nationally & globally and formulate strategy in this regard.
