A prestigious business plan competition took place on 12 June, 2023 at Naval Headquarters, organized by the BSMRMU Business Incubator "Startup BLUE." The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Admiral M Shaheen Iqbal, NBP, NUP, ndc, afwc, psc, Chief of Naval Staff and Chief Patron of Bangladesh Institute of Maritime Research and Development (BIMRAD). Rear Admiral Mohammad Musa, the Vice-Chancellor of BSMRMU, delivered a warm welcome speech to commence the program. Captain M Minarul Hoque, (H), BCGM, psc, BN, Director General, BIMRAD also participated in the event.

A total of 20 teams enthusiastically participated in the competition, showcasing their entrepreneurial prowess. Students from various universities and institutions across the country presented an array of innovative business plans with a maritime focus. These creative ideas captivated the audience, including the navy chief, who commended the top three groups for their exceptional start up proposals.
