Participation in AFD Seminar on ‘Grey Zone Activities and Challenges for Bangladesh’

The Armed Forces Division (AFD) of the Prime Minister's Office has organized a two-day seminar on "Gray Zone Activities and Challenges for Bangladesh” on 04 & 05 June 2023 intending to increase the awareness and knowledge of the young generation about different threats to the nation during peacetime. Minister of Science and Technology Affairs Architect Yeafesh Osman, the MP was present as the chief guest at the opening ceremony of the seminar at the Army Golf Club at the Dhaka Cantonment on Sunday. He spoke on Gray Zone Activities in the presence of the invited guests and students.

 

The topics discussed in the seminar are the concept of peacetime activities of a country to pursue its political interests other than war in the contemporary world, cyber threats and security in national and international contexts, the role of the state and the individual in countering the evils of misinformation and rumors in the contemporary world, activities in economic and diplomatic interests and national security. Each of the four sessions was followed by a vibrant Q&A session featuring questions and comments. A total of 400 people, including two foreign experts, officials of the army, navy, air force, border guard Bangladesh, police, Ansar, and other important government agencies related to national security and dignitaries of Bangladesh, and students of various universities in the capital and surrounding areas participated in the seminar. Research Officers of BIMRAD participated in this distinguished program.
