Participation in BIPSS Roundtable on ‘Canada’s Indo-Pacific Strategy: A New Horizon of Opportunity’

Bangladesh Institute of Peace and Security Studies (BIPSS) organizes a monthly roundtable on a contemporary geopolitical issue. The most recent one, held on 06th July 2023, focused on ‘Canada’s Indo-Pacific Strategy: A New Horizon of Opportunity’.

 

High Commissioner for Canada in Bangladesh H.E. Dr Lilly Nicholls gave the opening remarks at the event. Afterwards, A panel of experts comprising two distinguished speakers discussed the given topic. Former Foreign Secretary Md. Touhid Hossain and Assistant Professor Parvez Karim Abbasi, Department of Economics, East-West University spoke at the event as panelists. The speakers outlined several key points related to international relations doctrine, for instance, constructivism and its relevance with the Indo-Pacific Strategy published by Canada. BIPSS President Maj Gen ANM Muniruzzaman, ndc, psc (retd) moderated the roundtable. At the roundtable, Nur Ahmed, Research Officer (Maritime Affairs and Security), represented BIMRAD.
